Pyrenees Warm up ride - 40 km
A great warm up ride to
get accustomed to the un-crowded and beautiful
riding that the Pyrenees mountain area offers. The ride is
about 40 km in length and includes a taste of some
of the great road riding still to come. There is
the option to extend this day of riding, depending
on your arrival time.
Olot out and back -
Today's ride passes through some of the prettiest medieval villages of
the La Garrotxa Volcanic region of Girona. The
riding follows beautiful country roads, visits the largest lake in Catalonia
and then returns to
Olot along the same route.
Olot to Girona -
Today's ride leaves the La Garrotxa region and
enters the Girona
region following one of the lovely 'hidden' valleys
with its rolling hills and rocky outcrops
surrounding you as you ride downhill almost all the
way to the Medieval centre of Girona city.
Girona loop –
Today's ride heads out the same valley as yesterday before climbing 'up and over' into another
adjacent valley for the return to Girona. There is
another short 'up and over' to return to Girona via
the same route as yesterday's ride.
Girona to the Mediterranean
Sea - 50 km
Today you leave Girona heading to
the Mediterranean Sea, cycling through the rolling
Girona countryside, followed by
a short climb into the Les Gavarres coastal mountain
range before a great descent towards Sant
Feliu de Guixols, where you will be based for the next
Tossa de Mar return alongside
the Mediterranean Sea - 50 km
This ride is
just over 50 km in length riding along the famous Tossa de Mar
coastal road that was part
of the ‘2009 Tour de France’ stage
from Girona to Barcelona. The turn around point is
the seaside town of Tossa de Mar with its stunning
Citadel overlooking the blue waters of the
Mediterranean sea - a great place to have a coffee
before returning back to Sant Feliu de Guixols.
